One of Julie’s key flows: A simple, effective & powerful way to warm-up + strenghten the body
Over a decade ago, Julie landed in Canada and discovered Yoga.
Her first experience was in Montreal, in a beautiful little studio in the Old, where she took part as a student to three classes a week for over a year with Hatha yoga teacher Rocio Judith Machorro Perez.
From this time Julie’s first benefits from practicing yoga were:
Alignment (coming from years of ballet and birth hip dysplasia)
Stress management (flew away from a toxic romantic relationship)
Confidence (reconnecting in a playful way to her body through movements)
Yoga became quickly her passion, Julie was sharing with enthusiasm what she was learning to her family and friends.
She began to have fun practicing with farm helpers before their work day. Everyone could experience the great benefits of warm-up and cool-down sessions and drawing awareness to their breath & posture.
All of this was before Julie’s Yoga teacher training in 2012 with DevaTree School of Yoga in Owen Sound. She followed her 200hr certication with an additional 50hr training in Anatomy & Therapeutic.
As soon as she got officially certified Julie started teaching yoga in all of the local studios: Trillium, Tone, YMCA and her very own hOMe studio located in her house downtown Owen Sound.
After the birth of her second son, Grant and Julie bought Grant’s mom’s property where Grant already started to raise goats two years earlier.
Moving in to their dream property, they took on building a Wellness Studio and a Farm with two young children by their side.
It’s how Stonegrove Farm & Wellness Studio was created.
Julie took on farming and due to child bearing strain, naturally turned out to her yoga knowledge and experience to support herself.
She realized how powerful of an asset yoga was for her farming body and decided to share it with farmers around the world.
Julie offers yoga in-person, virtually and dedicate a part of her teaching especially for farmers & gardeners.
A little word about Julie’s Breathe ~ Connect ~ Receive motto:
Julie builds her yoga classes on this structure, breath work to begin, connect to the body with movements & stretches and receive with a quiet time at the end of the class to get all the benefits of the practice.
Julie’s yoga classes are inclusive, all are welcome. Julie enjoys teaching beginners, supports long time participants dusting off their practice & loves offering a wide range of variations to empower her student.
