These are the typical meat chickens but raised in a non typical way. Our birds are kept active from day 1 and are moved by Chicken tractor and given fenced areas to free range when possible. They have access to fresh food daily, scratch in the dirt, eat bugs and get some sunshine. Finished with in season fruit and vegetables from the orchards and gardens.
Our Partridge Chantecler Chickens. Slow raised over 5-6 months this chicken is full of flavour, has great texture and real contrast between the light and dark meat. Pastured chicken has more nutrient density.
Silver Appleyard ducks have a large size and produce many large eggs. Our meat birds are grow outs from our breed improvement and preservation efforts. They are slow growing at 5-6 months old. Full of flavour and packed with nutrients compared to most chicken. These ducks forage through the yards and gardens supplementing their hi quality feed with plants and insects, as their nature desires
This heritage pork has been raised on pasture, living outside for most of their life. Sun, a varied diet of foraged plants and high quality feed. We finish our pork on vegetables, fruit and nuts that are in season and produced here on site. Exceptional flavour and quality.
Our Lamb is raised only on pasture. These heritage breeds have exceptionally tender meat with mild flavour. Rotational grazing, No medications, regularly finished with apples and pears from the orchards. This is some of the cleanest and best meat available. (We also have wool and hides available in limited quantities)
Do you miss flavourful turkey, with juicy tender meat and real contrast between light and dark? This slow raised heritage turkey is the best Turkey you might ever taste. We think so, and so does everyone who has had the pleasure of trying it so far. Ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Season
The traditional, European Christmas and end of year feast bird. Our American geese are one of the only domestic breeds created in North America. The meat is dark, tender, delicious, full of nutrients and very lean. Goose and duck, had some bad publicity in the past. Depending how it is cooked there is a lot of fat in the animal but the meat itself is actually very lean. If you aren’t afraid of eating some healthy and natural fats, goose fat is one of the best and it can be stored for later use frying potatoes or other cooking.
